Pamela is amazing. She came to USF for the Women in Technology organization and provided beneficial guidance to the students. In college, students are focused on their assignments, projects, extracurriculars, and social life. Additionally, STEM majors students find it difficult to work in teams due to various reasons such as trouble communicating ideas and concepts to other. As a result, students are not often exposed group projects or team building opportunities, which gives students an opportunity to find their strengths and weaknesses. With the coaching sessions, students were able to explore their professional and personal strengths and weaknesses.

Like many students, I knew I had leadership skills, but I never knew what to define them and what they were exactly. That is what Pamela’s coaching did for me. With her strength assessment, I was able to narrow down my best quality that I can use to benefit a business or organization. Truly, the coaching sessions provided an insight to our strengths, weaknesses, and passions. Students are extremely grateful for her workshops and always ask to connect with her via LinkedIn for personal coaching sessions.

The Results

Ever since the coaching sessions, we saw an improvement in the community. More students wanted to participate in team building opportunities and there was an increase in leadership. For instance, we typically see strong leadership in upper division students or undergrad juniors and undergrad senior students. After the workshops, participation increased to about 40% from graduate students and sophomore students.
